Short answer: probably because he's desperate and just really likes seeing pretty girls (especially if they're insta models). And yes this is kind of a red flag, he could be trying to talk to these girls for the chance to get one of them to talk to him and in his maybe have a chance to sleep with her that he will honestly never get.
