He said he had to go help a friend which I new was a lie. But why do all of that touching just to leave early

No I didn’t it was just awkward and we weren’t talking that much. He kept staring at me and rubbing my face and legs

If you felt awkward, chances are he sensed it and felt awkward himself, so maybe that’s why he didn’t feel comfortable moving things forward and bailed instead.
