So I couldnt provide details, because it is too long, so its basically... I like him, I've known him for a long time, I felt insecure bc of his ex. He is somewhat chill around me, but him and his friends make "joking" remarks about me that I dont like (I dont want to straight out say toxic). We play games together, he can really get on my nerves. I am really confused about his behavior. I want to send him a valentine and thats why I am asking this question...

It sounds to me like you like him because you want to make him treat you nice. If that's the case then there are two possibilities here.
1) He carries on the way he is and you get your heart broken
2) He changes for you, and starts to treat you nice.. and then you'll get bored of him, move onto someone else and break his heart.

I do have a point to this.. honest..

Stop wasting your time with him, find someone who is more suited to you and will make you happy. By doing that you'll thank me for it I promise!

That's what my friends keep telling me, but I've never met someone that would exactly align with my expectations (treat me nice, good to talk to, supportive, etc...), so I don't say them that high... It would be a dream, if someone was that perfect, guys my age are mostly like this, where they keep saying outright toxic stuff (I am cool with it, but I feel like it's starting to affect me, since I can't differentiate of they're joking, or when they're serious).
I am one of the smartest in my class and they make fun of me for being a nerd (I am not studying 6 hours a day, but they still think I do and don't understand, only one who said I don't is my crush) and later they want help with homework...

I could keep listing of stuff, but I think this gives a good picture...

Are you positive you haven't? The reason I ask that is because when I was 13, I adored this girl. I mean worshipped the ground she walked on. I would have moved the moon off it's axis if she'd asked me to (Metaphorically speaking of course) but because I was 2 years younger, she never knew I was alive.
The whole time she was going out with other guys who treated her like dirt and were really horrible to her.
My point is, when you are a kid (I don't mean that in a derogatory way) you cannot be seen by your friends to accept anything or anyone they wouldn't approve of, but there could be someone who idolises you and you maybe haven't noticed them!

Thank you for your advice... I've been thinking about what you said a lot. Today I asked my friends for advice on what should I do, if I feel like s*** as a result of how they treated me. They opened my eyes and told me to cut them off and that it's not worth it (some of the guys were s****ing on me and telling them how annoying I was and how they don't want me in their space). I finally realised how stupid I was for hanging out with them.

I was also thinking about what you said and I really don't know if I ever noticed someone being into me. My good friend told me she thinks someone definitely had a crush on me at least once, but noone ever told me or made any signs that I could think of. I feel pretty sad, I don't know what to do. I feel like nobody likes me or appreciates me and I feel like a unnecessary burden. I always wonder how do people naturally and easily get into good relationships and when I see them I get sad and jealous...

Please don't feel bad about this. In the last few says you have learned a great deal about yourself and about how you deal with people who should not be trusted. I went through something similar when I was younger than you. Know what it taught me? It taught me that to be friends with me you have to be the very best you can be. I learned to command respect instead of being the butt of everyone's jokes.
Sure, I play the fool a heck of a lot even now and I enjoy myself doing so, but people know they only ever have one chance to let me down.. I forgive them the once but nobody except bar those who are very close to me will get a second.
This will make you stronger too, even though you're smarting. You won't for very long, but I will make you a guarantee, that if you do what I say, those people who looked on you with derision? Will come crawling back tin the hope of your friendship in time!
