What is he trying to say to me?

I've been talking to this guy for almost two months. We get along well and text almost every day, and may have had some flirty messages from time to time. Some days ago I asked if he is usually that flirty with his friends and he said that of course not, so I asked him if he liked me and he said maybe, so I ended up telling him that I like him. He just seemed surprised and said that he didn't know what to say. So I'm quite confused because he is still talking to me as usual but I don't know if I should move on or clarify this situation.

There's no harm in trying to clarify, right? Are you worried about losing him as a friend? Are you in the market for a boyfriend/partner?

He may not know what to say (this type of stuff is difficult and can be awkward, but it is learned over time; it's all just part of socializing and communicating and relationships), but that doesn't mean you should therefore never ask, or say, these things. Live! Be bold and go forth (sometimes.) Time's a wastin'!

If it doesn't work out, so be it. It wasn't meant to be. But it's always a good thing to be honest, speak from the heart, and everyone likes to hear a compliment. Just be prepared that sometimes it may end something. And that's okay too.
