Ok this is the real story. A building contractor did some work on my property a month ago and there's an issue with the tap so the director sent one of his guys without informing me (its my house and my mom and sister have never met these guys)

My mom opened the door and asked who it was and he didn't answer so she shut the door in his face. The director sent me a message asking me if I was at home 2 minutes before he arrived and I didn't see the message.

I was not at home and I spoke to the guy that was at the door on the phone and apologised as my mom was about to leave for work (this was 9am)
I apologised to him for my mum shutting the door and me not being able to be there

I then text back the director of the company explaining the situation and apologised and so said please apologise for me. we have rearranged for next week

The guy at the door was pissed but no one knew he was coming

Its me. I apologised. My friend knocked for me and my mom didn't know who it was and slammed the door in his face she asked me who he was and he didn't answer. If my boss sent me out on a job without making the proper arraignments, I would be pissed, but the rest sounds normal. You ask the boss to apologize, Nothing wrong with that. If you see the guy in person, you can add to the apology.
