Initiated a kiss and hasn’t messaged me since?

Hello, I hope everyone’s day is going well. Well, the other night I agreed to meet up with a guy who I’ve been having casual and vulnerable conversations with back and forth through phone. We always seemed to get along and never really discussed anything romantic between one another but he would consistently ask to hang out with me. I usually declined but this time I agreed since he was going to be in the neighborhood and I wasn’t busy. When we met, I was shy of course but it wasn’t awkward. We got along, conversations flowed naturally, we laughed, listened to music. He told me about trips he’s been on, he told me about his last relationship and opened up to me. A few times he’d stop and stare at me as if I was the only thing in the world and it was really sweet, he initiated touch a lot, from grabbing and caressing my hand to putting his fingers in my hair, massaging my shoulders, putting his arm around me and ultimately kissing me more than once. I hadn't realized how much I liked him until the kiss of course which is why now everything is confusing because after that happened we decided to get food. He paid for the dinner and dropped me off back at my place, once again gave me a kiss and said we’d hear from one another. At one point he even mentioned something about a” next time we hang out” but ever since this date or whatever you’d call it, he hasn’t spoke to me. He watches my Instagram stories but doesn’t message me, he hasn’t liked my pictures on instagram either. (I know that sounds silly but it’s usually things he does which is why I’m saying it’s weird that he hasn’t since we met.) I’m just confused, I want to message him but I don’t want to come off needy and desperate. I’m just confused on what his behavior entailed if it entailed anything at all. He posted maybe three things on his Insta since, but he hasn’t really been active much either other than watching my stories. I’m confused, what do you think?

You might want to reel in your thinking about social media activity. It means nothing... you seem to be placing far too much value on it.

Your fear of being seen as "needy and desperate" is having the opposite affect. You're wondering why you haven't heard from him, and he's probably wondering why he hasn't heard from YOU. Just message him.

That’s the thing, I contacted him twice after church e hung out. I asked him if he got home safe and he said “I just got in :)” to which I replied “just making sure” then he replied to my instagram story where I tagged him because I had taken a video that night and he said liked it and said “that’s dope asf” but every time I followed up his message with a new one he left me on seen - I don’t know that I should message him again. He starts his new job tomorrow and I was considering wishing him luck on his first day.

I did and he ended up telling me that he doesn’t want to corrupt me, hurt me? That we should just be friends & when i asked why he kissed me he said that he did it because he thought that’s what I wanted.. but that isn’t true, he initiated all types of contact first & seemed to really like me, so I don't know. I’ll just take his word for it but part of me feels like he just doesn’t wanna get into a relationship cause his last one let him down
