I'm no fan of Valentines day, so not dealing with all the bullshit that surrounds it is nice. That's a win in my book. It's always good to get rid of girls you're not serious about before the holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years) and pick up new one's after Valentines day. Then you can steer clear of introducing some floozy to family and skip all her materialistic entitlement complex. That said, you're clearly fucking some other dude, so you'd just not be seen as anything serious if you even made it past being nonexistent.

Basically my last seen on whatsapp is hidden and I didn't contact him on V day
he's now hidden his last seen (I used to check his, he was ALWAYS online) and his last seen was visible for a year

Anything is possible. Everyone is different… Lets look at some opposing possibilities… Scenario one, he’s some lonely guy in the friend zone for five years that put you on a pedestal and thinks he loves you even though you never dated. You go out and have a hot date and bang some other guy and ignore him and then want to come back after your roll in the hay and tell him about how romantic some other dude is. His delusion is shatter, and he hates you for stringing him along. Scenario two, he dumped his last girlfriend before Thanksgiving and is hunting for potential future girlfriends during the holidays. He thinks you're sort of interesting and he has been feeling you out and judging your character over the past month or so... Based on what he is reading, he has arrived at the conclusion that you aren’t worth his time so he cut you off and doesn't even remember your name.

Obviously you want his attention and nothing else from him... He's not willing to give you attention at this time, so leave the man alone.

I only started speaking to him for the past 6 weeks and he can be quite spiteful. He's been wanting my attention for the past 6 weeks and its almost like he wants me to kiss his ass and I haven't

That sounds to me like he just aggressively pursued you. He pushed your boundaries to learn what he wanted. He was hunting... You fed off the attention of the chase. You didn't bite so he move on.

We were meant to meet up and I gave him a few days that I was available and he didn't turn up and instead posted a quote of "a lion does not eat grass no matter how hungry he is" at the time he was meant to come. Did he want me to work around him? Because he's the "king"

Basically he's saying where's the beef... What you were offering, wasn't what he was looking for. He didn't want to play whatever game you were playing so he moved on.

Behavior is the issue... You were not compatible with what he was looking for. If he found you attractive in the start, then he was OK with your looks. He just didn't like the rest of the package.

He put a wink face with a relieved emoji so I questioned my looks, not going to lie. Doesn't it sound flirty or smug with that quote?

That's probably to indicate he used that more so tongue-in-cheek. Don't take it too serious. I guess he thinks he's funny and witty.

I don't get that feeling from anything you mentioned. It seems to me that he wanted to see substance and action. He aggressively took a run at you... You were probably dilly dallying and playing games or whatever because you weren't sure about him. Just from talking to you over a couple of comments I picked up on your insecurity over your looks, attention seeking/clingy feel, and stand offish nature with comments like "he wanted me to kiss his ass". He probably got the idea that things felt one sided, were you wanted attention and to play with him, but didn't want to bite the bullet. He didn't want to play that game so he cut you lose... Then you go off and bang some other guy for V day... What exactly where you expecting? You think he's just going to wait on the sidelines for you while you have your fun?
