Why does a guy say that he's hurt when I left him even though he didn't love me?

I had a guy friend who said that he would never see me more than a friend, he pointed out my flaws even though I'm nice, he never apologized when I got sad so I cut him off because he made me feel sad, anxious and insecure, he tried to fix things between us before I leave but I knew that once I stay, he will treat me badly all over again so I decided to leave... Now he keeps saying that he's hurt and I don't know why he says that if he didn't like me...

Yeah and he didn't treat me well as a friend, he compared me to his friends, avoided me and I found myself apologizing alone while he js trying to prove that what he did is right
