Why would this question annoy a guy?

I talked with my ex boyfriend today and told him that he reminds me of my dad. He asked what reminds me. I said some things he says and how he says them. He then said “am I your dad?” with an annoyed tone.

Why might this question annoy a guy? Would it annoy you or not?

Guys dont like being compared to others and that goes for anybody. He takes it as you saying you only love him as family and not as a potential partner.

Thanks. This is my ex who says he does not want to get back together. Not sure why it matters to him if I don’t love him as a potential partner. Is it just an ego thing in this case?
