Why do some men feel the need to get female attention when they have a solid relationship with a good woman?

Throughout the entire 10+ years of our relationship my husband has been flirting with women through social media or work. Every time I caught it he says he's sorry and promises he'll stop until the next time I catch him. He says there's nothing lacking in our relationship and he doesn't know why he does it.

Because they have a general need for attention. It´s habit that guys create being single, it doesn´t matter with whom he is in a relationship.
How good a partner is no factor in this equation, the problem is rather that he has built his self-confidence on the feedback of others meaning he needs other peoples´ acknowledgement to feel good about himself.

I can answer that very simply. He does it because he doesn't care enough about you, and he knows you won't leave him.
