How to deal with this crush?

there's a guy who my friends say liked me for a few months now. every time i see him he would gaze at me, stare at me in lectures, and talk really loudly to his friends around me. but he's never approached me.
recently, i got a crush on him too. see, he's the kind of guy who's outgoing and makes a lot of jokes and i just think he's funny.
however, since i showed no interest for so long - and since i'm pretty shy to talk to him since we don't know each other at all - i'm not so sure he likes me anymore. this whole week, he's only glanced at me or seemingly purposefully avoided looking at me.
should i move on with this crush? we really dont know much about each other but i think we would get along if we had to talk to each other.

That is all about, and I think you should talk with him about it, because even if you get bad scenario you will get over it and you will know where you two are. If you keep silent about it you will suffer more and keep yourself asking "what it could be if I did this or that".
