He got really upset?

So last night I told a friend I was going to hang out with 3 guys and one of the guys friends house and he got really upset over it, he said he can’t stop me but he doesn’t want me to become a statistic which he thinks I’m going to be set up, and tried to see what he was seeing which I can understand.
What should I do and why is he so upset over it
