Guys, What does this mean?

Ok so I have a guy friend whom I’m pretty close with. He’s given signs that he likes me (touchy, staring at me, always around me, sits next to me etc). A while ago his close friend texted me that we should date because “we look good together.” Anyways recently, a girl that I only have a class with comes up to me to tell me that I should start dating my close guy friend. (Note, she sits next to him in this class) what does this mean?
