Why Do Men Cheat?

Yes, I know women will cheat but I’m asking the men. What I’ve recently observed were a lot of men who were willing to cheat on their partners if the opportunity presented itself. (Meaning someone liked them and they didn’t express that they were already in a committed relationship.)

A lot of these men would sit there and go along with whatever these women were doing flirting, dating, some of these men slept with these women and the woman would be in shock to find out they already had a partner.

So men why are your counterparts doing this?

I would say men cheat for the same reasons women do. First of all, who is a cheater is usually a cheater also with all their next partners, if the context for cheating is similar. This is because cheating is never related directly to the partner not being "enough", but is rooted into the cheater only: cheating is not just "being attracted to others outside a relationship", because this is normal and happens to anyone, but extends to:"and deciding, rationally, to find a hidden way to have lovers or hookups, without leaving the partner first". This is the core of cheating, not being "too attracted" to someone else. Too attracted doesn't mean necessarily to cheat, as cheating is a decision.
So, why some people decide to cheat while others don't, in a given similar opportunity? This is the question.
I think cheating is related to 2 main issues: one is cowardice/immaturity, childish perception of the relationship in general, not being able to put an end to the relationship first, or anyway talk about how bad it's going, plus not even attempting to fix it together if something is wrong; two is a very inflated sense of self, superiority and entitlement, towards the other partner, as if they don't deserve any decency or respect of any sort, but rather being silently abused is, to the eyes of the cheater, acceptable. These 2 things combined don't just lead a person to be a cheater, but also a liar in general, capriceous, embarassingly easy to trigger with disproportionate reactions to assert power, manipulative to some degree and demanding, in general. Anything that abuses of the partner's availability and care, can go well together with the profile of a cheater, and that determine a very high chance that the same person will also cheat with their next partners.
This can be applied to both men and women, but we can surely say that a lot of men feel like their partner is kind of inferior and that owes them something, because female, so they might tend to not respect them a bit more than what women do. However, those who avoid conflicts are mostly women, which means they could be tempted to cheat where they have zero social skills to deal with the closure of a relationship that has nothing to offer. Either way, both reasons are often combined in different measures in both genders, and are honestly embarassing, especially for those who are not teenagers anymore.

I slightly disagree with you on the beginning. The partner not being enough. I think that absolutely can be the case. The problem stems from the dating part of it. Either one party compromises to the point they can’t compromise and the other isn’t enough anymore. Or they started out bring everything they wanted in the beginning and overtime got to comfortable that it fell to not being enough for the other person. Both will lead to conflicts and since society is not good at dealing with conflict in a healthy way. Many people looks got outs, or ways of coping which turns into cowardice. You are correct, cheating is a decision. And the answer too your question is very simple. “Why some people decide to cheat while others don’t, in a given similar opportunity?” Because they either are conditioned to say no matter what, or they are too weak/cowardly to end the relationship like a cheater is and they learn to live in misery.. it’s a simply answer. The best solution to all of this is don’t compromise on what you want… people will say well you will never be in a relationship., while that may be true. Not compromising on what you want and who you are forces you to find the people that will truly and completely satisfy you in every way.. but as a society we give too much so we can just “be with someone” and that’s where we get in trouble

Men cheat strictly physically they wanna fuck. Women cheat more emotionally because they’re unsatisfied with their current partner. Both are in general and there are outliers but that’s generally how it is

disagree. Women can cheat because of the physical attributes. Quick a few of my buddies had their women cheat on them and the answer they got from the woman was, he was hot, and he had abs.. I wouldn’t even say out of emotions as much. Yes that plays a big part. But I would say more opportunity for both

Yeah studies are limited to random people.. and a certain control or focus group.. that is a small number compared to the majority of people out there.. when it comes to those kinds of studies you have to be objective to those limitations.. it’s not the end all be all. But it’s a good step in starting the conversation. However, my experience with my interactions with people will outweigh those of the studies because I usually encounter a larger group and demographic of people than the studies do.. so in otherwords, I take those studies with a healthy pitcher of salt..
