Why would a guy be potentially scared of me liking him?

I work with a guy who is 25 years old and I’m 28 (he has said I look younger)

He is my colleague and I haven’t been at this new job for very long. But he acts shy around me. When we wore masks he would just stare into my eyes as we spoke but now we don’t wear masks at work, sometimes he avoids eye contact or looks at me and looks away very quickly.
At the staff Christmas party, he stared at me from a distance and then stood with me but said nothing, just looking at me and looking away.

He seems to chat more when there are less people around and I have caught him looking at my breasts once or twice.

I confided in a colleague that I had a soft spot for him but I’m now in a relationship.

The colleague said “I’ll text him that and he will be terrified”

Why would he be terrified if I potentially liked him?

Okay so now you are in a relationship so you shouldn't have a soft spot for someone else. Not for him.

Another reason why he could be afraid of your liking him because he thinks you may try to pursue your feelings and that in turn will mess up things with you current relationship
