He helps me in class as he had been asked to by the teacher and we also have a friendship in class we get along well laugh and joke and have similar interests
outside of class when he sees me alone on campus or at lunch he’ll look my way across the room with his body facing me and kind of hover and when I make eye contact he’ll try hold it with me and tilt his head as if he wants to talk then when I don’t acknowledge him and break eye contact he just looks away as if he doesn’t get me. as if he wants to come over but is looking for a sign from me this happens a lot
i know I should’ve just said hiiiii or smiled but I didn’t know why he just looks at me with no expression when he should just come over or smile! (I have Asperger’s and he knows it so maybe he should realise it’s awkward for me)

Maybe he is simply trying to figure you out at the moment. Have you guys talked at all? Have you mentioned to one another your likes dislikes? Is he aware that you have Aspergers? Having that conversation would probably be good. Can you start up the communications?
I think you should consider telling him you have Aspergers.
Hey I already told him! However that was back in October very likely he has forgot, maybe I should remind him I don’t want him to think I’m rude or dislike him
I guess he might feel intimidated, but you could ask him out to lunch.
