They like to control women and force themselves on them through an act of sexual violence.

Most rapes are never even reported, but it also isn't most men either, the vast majority would just as well cut the piece off the man of a rapist if they were sure he did it.

Of course it varies based on country and location. Native American or First Nation tribes have extremely high rate of rape compared to the rest in the US and Canada.

I say men do not need to protect us, I will never rely on another man to protect me, I will just do it myself to be safe from ever being attacked again.

That's a good question. There could be many, many reasons like why arson, violence, and war exist if it is taught that those things are not good. That is because in this world there are and will be people who traumatizes other people, cultures where there are laws that those crimes are justified, life wasn't fair with them, they got hurt in the past and they seek some kind of revenge, or even they get crazy to the point that doing it will save women.

That's like asking "Why do women cheat and sleep around when they should be faithful?" The question is too broad. Normal men (aka the majority) would NEVER harm a woman nor do we have the ability to understand rapists and murders. Just like an honest woman cannot fathom why dishonest women cheat.
