And honestly it is so easy to get almost anything else tatted over a name tat... this guy sounds super lame, and if it is not because he still cares for her then he is on the boundary of super lamedom and you probably should break it off with him just for that.

I think if him taking his time to cover the tattoo is the only thing that is making you feel like he isn't over her, then that is probably untrue. Perhaps it is finances, or just that he isn't looking forward to being tattooed again and healing it. But since it is making you upset, you should sit down and explain your feelings to him. Perhaps set a date together by which he has to do it. You feelings should be heard.

I don't understand why didn't he cover it as soon as he broke up with her (I don't understand why would someone tattoo so's name, but that's just me I guess). I didn't get my ex's name, but a symbol, a large Playboy bunny on my arm. Its been years, but I can safely say I don't have feelings for her, but still wear this tattoo visibly on my arm for everyone to see.

I would love that it would just "disappear" or that I hadn't got it, but laser removal is too $$$ and I don't want to make a bigger mistake by adding more ink and regretting it more.
