That's how online dating works. He's attracted enough to want to meet you. The meeting may be the beginning or the end. For my wife and me it was the beginning.

"We chatted off and on for months..." I learned pretty quickly that's a waste of time. I chatted with a couple of women for a couple of weeks before meeting, either online or on the phone. When we met -- no chemistry. After that I just invited someone to meet as soon as there was mutual interest.

It's possible, but if he's older than you, he's getting a bit old for that. Sounds a bit immature to me, but he could still be a catch. Go meet him and see. Next time insist on meeting ASAP.

I have no idea. Ask him. Maybe a friend finally said "Why haven't you met her?"

As a girl I would ask a guy whom I see even platonically for a coffee. The thing is that guys understand things differently than girls. It's probable that this guy whom you are referring is interested romantically in that girl.

Probably pretty common; it shows he's at least interested enough to want to get to know her more, without necessarily committing to something big and expensive.

There is a minimum level that that requires, yes. Remember that interest and attraction aren't yes/no binaries; there is a "no", but beyond that, it's a matter of "how much".

Why people meet expand their social circle? Two reasons, One increase sexual market and two increase financial market.
How common is this or that is statistics i dont have and can't tell, but its more common guys meet with women they like (sexual market) or meet with women dont like (financial market).

We have no way knowing if we are good looking or not, and fear have nothing to do with our looks there no connection.

If he treats you like "meh" then thats indication, there isn't really specific sign like green hat or something, its gonna be overall attitude and feeling.
Question, why you worry yourself if he likes you or not? He will either like you or not, you will find it out later on, trying to find it out before is just too stressfull. And takes a lot of mental energy.
