Why does a 16yo guy get mad and sad when his crush tells him that he is a "cute and sweet baby boy"?

16-year-old boys do not want to be referred to as “cute” or “sweet,” because at that age, they are going through puberty and want to be seen as a man, masculine, tough, hot/handsome, and mature.

Not to mention, being called a “baby boy” by a 16-year-old boy’s crush is just soul-shattering… It's emasculating and infantilizing to him. No one wants to be called that by their crush at that age.

All of that just sounds like something a mother should say to their son, and it isn’t a compliment when it comes from a crush… As stated above, boys that age was to be seen as a man, tough, hot, and mature… Not a “sweet, cute little baby boy"

Because of the fact that a "cute and sweet baby boy" is something you can say to a toddler but not to a 16 year old. That´s the definition of belittleing if you say that to a guy you say subtly tell him that you don´t take him seriously because he´s a baby.
That way she clearly signals him that she doesn´t take him seriously and rather views him a child than an adolescent.
To say it in other words it´s an insult.

Because it sounds like she is saying she is not attracted to him and he isn't mature enough for her. If that's not the case they should talk and clear things up.

If he doesn't have a diaper fetish then it wouldn't make sense to him. Big and strong hunky lady only works if she wants to be a bodybuilder. You can say "man you got huge" to a male athlete but try saying it to a woman
