How would you react if you let your 5 year old son to go out and play, but he threw stones at cars?

I would pull him aside and tell him it is not ok to throw things at peoples car. The reason being that he could spoil someones car, therefore mummy and daddy will have to use his ice cream money to pay for it. 🤪

No. I'd have a ''serious word'' with him. And make him face his victim, too (unless the car owner is too heated up about it)
I was 5 myself once - and I did some silly things as well :) I never learned something from Grandma's broomstick (heh heh), but I DID understand 'instructions' and 'lessons'.

Beating - I'd only consider this if he'd have beaten up someone else first. And in this case: just one or two not too hard ''reminders'' of how this makes your own pride feel.
I find that a parent who beats their children -as a general parenting method- to have admitted defeat.
