Because whenever a woman gives a guy chance he maybe naturally has a confident boost from that.
For an ugly guy that boost is probably higher because his chances of finding a woman are lower.
So he has to learn to ride that confidence illusion and not fall in the other extreme from being formerly self conscious to become extremely self confident.
