Is he maybe intrested?

hi! So there's this guy at my school, he is in the grade above me and I've been having a crush on him for like 8 months? Recently, I started liking him more and more each time I see him but I can't talk to him since we dont know each other. I've tried adding him on my social medias, but he hasn't accepted me. I think it might because he doesn't realize its me or something? We have eye contact a lot and today he sat in the same corridor as me, even though his lesson was upstairs and he sat there originally. Maybe its just me being so lonely, but how can i make him intrested or at least try to get to know him? I wouldn't dare walking up to him, i’d more like it via text. I can send him a message on facebook or instagram, even though he hasn't added me back. Is that too much or would guys think its cute if girls take the first step? Im really torn rn, because I like him a lot and I want to get to know him. He doesn't have many friends either and but I was a bit afraid that if I text him something, maybe he will show it around school and make fun of me? But i dont know, he seems shy and a bit introverted? Please give me some advice :/
