just after some advice please!
my guy friend invited me out with his mates, and we got there early and was sitting on a large table where half was a comfy L Shape bench and the rest was chairs. So he sat on the soft seating bench and I went to sit in the chair.

he said oh you should sit here and pointed towards a space next to him on the bench so I sat there which was close to him. Then as friends arrived they took the chairs.

throughout the night he was teasing me more than just regular conversations. The teasing is like a fake playful back and forth argument. Where were both like well that’s too bad if you think that? Oh yeah we’ll you’re wrong etc

what do you think this means? Is this interest?

If he wants you to sit near him, just with that single act, it tells me he is intrested, unless he wanted to avoid another person sitting near him. As of the childish conversation, usually when that happens, it is that both are nervous because there is an atraction.

We’ve only been friends a few months. But he knows I like him, but he said he prefers to get to know someone first and likes to be friends then see how it develops naturally. So we’re just meant to be mates
