His neediness is turning me off. What should I do?

There is this guy who likes me and I like him too. But he is needy, and usually sends several messages during the day. I don't bother much, but he sent me a message 30 minutes ago asking me a question. I was studying at the moment, but I started to talk to him and after about 5 minutes I had already lost focus, and then, while he was sharing one of his experiences, I apologized and said I had to go study, then he said okay.

So just now he sent me seven messages, asking if everything is ok, telling me that he cares about me and stuff.

I'm becoming really annoyed, although he is a nice person. What should I do? It's making me feel better about the idea of breaking up our friendship, even if I really don't want to...

The only thing you can really do is tell him that it's turning you off, and that you don't know how much longer you can have this sort of personality around. I get it that he likely doesn't have much else of a life outside of you but, that means he NEEDS to. And if you don't feel comfortable with it, you need to tell him, DON'T WAIT AROUND

You have 2 choices. Yes of course you could break things off, or if he is otherwise as you say very nice, just put him at his ease and tell him not to worry, your friendship is safe. He really doesn't need to panic and worry so much.

He might be overly needy, but the guys that aren't are usually the types that are too busy doing their own thing to care about your needs or desires and some even with other women.
