Would you text a guy who doesn't text you first?

if someone so close to you who may have mental problems or anxiety, doesn't text first to anyone... but super friendly to you whenever you text, give attention to you and had told you beforehand that no matter how much you mean to him, he wouldn't text first... would it be ok if you're the only one who text that guy first? what might be the reason he doesn't text first to anyone? just because he has anxiety issues?

I feel like all these points listed is you trying to rationalize in your mind, when it doesn’t feel quite good for you. My advice will always be to do what makes you feel most comfortable. So even if you’ve mentioned all these key points, if at the end of the day you are still wanting him to text you first sometimes or just in general, then you should make peace with that and decide if he’s someone you want to keep having that dynamic with.

Yes I would, and you should too, it is not always a guy's duty to make the first move, moreover it is your feelings after all.

If he seems positive and interested if I message him first. I'll give it a couple shots but if he's not showing interest I won't bother him any more.
