Boyfriend of a couple months and I were playing around and laughing, then he said “god, I love you” out of the blue. It didn’t freak me out, but I didn’t want to say it back just in case he didn’t actually mean it seriously. He didn’t comment or react to saying it, but he hasn’t said it again. It’s been about two weeks.
I know that I’ve done that with friends or very similar, just sort of like an “oh you’re so funny” type of thing. But I’ve been thinking about it wondering if he intentionally said it in hopes that I would say it back, but I didn’t.
