When a guy tells a girl his problem, does he actually want her to give solutions/advices OR does he just want her to listen?

He's likely hoping that she has ideas on how to solve it, or that together they can come up with a solution. Usually if a guy shares a problem, he is looking for a solution.

Honestly if I want a solution to a problem I’ll go to my guy friends if it’s my girl then I’d rather her just give me a hug or something
