Why would he tired to intimidate at first meeting. Now he is being nice?

this guy who works with me, never interacted before, came to me for help. He stood really close and in a very authoritative manner he asked for my help. I did not like the way he spoke or the way he behaved with me but I helped him. After one year that he acts really nice towards me, even he is really sweet towards me, he always compliment me for no reason but I did not like him as his first impression is stuck in my mind. So oneday I confronted him about our first meeting incident saying to him that he stood really close to me in which he replied that he liked me bit too much then I asked what do mean by that and to this he replied that his personal space and mine are not same and he is not sorry for that. I said ok I understand but you commanded me in a authoritative manner. To which he said sorry. He said I am sensitive to him because I do not like him. Personally I felt he was portraying superiority and ordered me. now he is trying gain some advantage from me.
