A guy I’m talking to tells me he is obsessed with me, and is very clingy. is this a bad sign?

I’ve been talking to this guy for a month now and he has told me that he is obsessed with me and he is also clingy he likes to ask what I’m doing and he wants to know specifically what I’m doing, and he likes to know my whereabouts when I don’t text him for a while. Are these red flags? He’s very sweet and all but I’m not sure how to feel about his behavior sometimes

I'm very much someone who needs my independence and expects that in someone else. To me, this kind of behaviour would have me running for the fucking hills.
