Why does my guy friend not text me back?

So here is the thing...
I have this guy friend and he is really confusing.

When we talk in person he is great, but when I go to text him a lot of the time he doesn't text back.

He will look at the message but not respond. If you have time to look at the message, don't you have time to respond?

He has his good moments when texting. Like he will text back and we'll have this great long conversation.

But other times he just doesn't text back.

It is really getting on my nerves because all my other friends even my guy friends will text back. Even if they are busy, they will find time and text me back.

So I need to know, why does my guy friend not text me back?

Listen to me, and remember this: guys DO NOT like to text as much as girls. We. just. don't. Most girls can't/won't understand this and expect them to value it the same. Not gonna happen. If everything is great in person (you know, what REALLY matters) then I'd say things are great. I mean, what is more important to you? A good text buddy? Or a real friend? Anytime you rely on digital correspondence to keep a relationship going you end up with nothing.
