What does it mean when a guy adds and unadds you off snapchat?

I've been talking to this guy for a few months and we haven’t met yet because we go to separate colleges.(but we both live in the same city so we were planning on meeting during summer break). For like the first 2 months we were at school texting everyday. We both got home from college this May.. Like 1 week into being home he started talking to me less and less or leaving me on open for like 3 days. and then i noticed one day he unadded me off snapchat. so then i unadded him off instagram and he noticed and messaged me asking why i unfollowed him, then 2 hours later says “i snapped you”-and i saw he added me back on snapchat. i still didn’t respond and he unadded me again. then 1 day later he texted me to add him on snapchat again. then i said “i’ll think about it” and by the time i went to accept he had already un added me. then i texted and said “you already unadded me” and he said “you’ve given me such a hard time”. so replied “and you haven’t” and he never answered. so i unadded and blocked him on everything because he is the one that was giving me the hardest time ever and i was so confused. then i get a face book message saying “why would you block me please add me on snapchat”. so i finally decide to add him back and i told him about how it hurt when he just unadded me off snapchat with no explanation. he then gave me a very genuine seeming apology and said he wants to remain in contact with me and admitted he was leading me on before. so the next morning i go on snapchat and he messaged me saying “i’m sorry please don’t hate me” and unadded me again. i’m not even trying again with him but i just want to know if anyone knows what was going on on his end. like why is he wasting his time doing all this to me? and why does he still follow me on instagram and is the first one to view my stories even though i unadded him? sorry this was long
