True I would agree hook up types don't really hang around if your not hooking up. Maybe he's the type of guy that doesn't get a lot of action or attention from women. So he's more invested in you than you think. But if he's hanging around maybe you should consider if he's with it or not and invest back.

Ours not to reason why... He likes you. Accept it. Were you neglected as a child by one or both parents? Often that leads to feeling unlikeable as an adult. I did. Finally I saw a therapist and she helped a lot. If that's you, you might consider doing that.

Yeah I had an emotionally unavailable mom and my dad died when I was really little. So I truthfully don’t understand love and self acceptance.

Please get some counseling if you can. A great therapist helped me see myself more positively, as someone worthy of being loved, as you are. Your boyfriend's affection may feel strange to you. Don't reject him because you feel unworthy. Spend time with supportive friends. If you don't have any, find an activity and make some friends. I expect you are a perfectly lovely person who just hasn't been shown a lot of love.

We all are a bit needy. We all have needs. One of them is to be needed. Of course you can take it too far if you are too prying about what he is doing instead of giving you attention. Or, if you start making accusations about his, form your point of view, poorly ordered values.
