He encourages me to date other guys, but doesn’t want to end things?

I was seeing this guy who would give me dating advice and encourage me to date other men. He also will not let me end things gracefully. I’ve tried multiple times to end things with him (typically when I want to explore things with another guy) and will behave stalkerishly and insist on continuing things.

What gives?

Well are you two hooking up or have hooked up in the past and may do it again in the future? Because if either of those are the case then that’s why. He likes what he gets or can get from you and that’s all, he isn’t getting it from anyone else and most likely because of his own faults. You say you keep trying to cut him off, have you blocked him at every turn or flat out ignored him without caving? Probably not, and I don’t understand why. You don’t need permission.

What gives? Low self esteem! He desperately wants you go running towards him. But he's too chicken shit to put himself out there. So he pushes you towards other men and then desperately hopes you'll turn back towards him thereby proving you love him. You are never gonna fix this. The dude has serious problems. RUN for the exit.

He KNOWS where he stands in YOUR world... doesn't want to 'burn bridges" he may one day need to revisit~ UNTIL he believes he's found someone more desirable.
