Why does he still want me?

My boyfriend had been and off. I know we’re toxic for eachother but we always have conversations about us getting better and he’s changed some of his ways but recently found a notebook of him writing to 2 females about how much he enjoyed spending time with him or what not. At that time we were broken up but also he’s been calling and texting and trying to approach me around that date. We were finally doing good until I found that, why would he do the most and want me back if he had other females. I asked him but he says we were broken up and he was hurt and he wanted to leave that behind but lied to me when I asked him if he had anybody else. Now that I know the truth I don't know how to look at him. I’ve always had trust issues with him from the beginning but why does he still want me around?

How did you 'find' this notebook?

It was on top of his drawer I slept over took a shower & used his lotion & because I didn’t have my stuff there. I saw the notebook & noticed the paper was the same paper he wrote me letters with. I don't know why but something told me to grab it & saw he was writing to me then kept flipping pages and saw he wrote to 2 other “girls”. I waited till he got done showering and confronted him about it. Said we were broken up but also tried denying it.
