Over thinking about thiss?

Lets say i have a friend mary.. mary has a brother, say sam.. whenever i and mary met, she used to send snaps of us together to sam teasing us together and he would always reply saying i was pretty or complimented me..
Recently at Mary's friends marriage, i saw him and we both smiled at each other, i said hi just passing by.. now after 2 weeks after that, he sent me a friend request on Facebook, which i accepted.. but he hasn't sent a message and neither have i initiated a conversation..
Mary had come over to my home and send a snap of me (doing silly things to tease) and he sent me a snap request too..
I don't know why i am obsessed with the thought of him.. what do you think he is trying to do? I get a hint that he likes me but why hasn't he talked yet? even i haven't, I'm too nervous.. is he just playing or what?

Obsessed with the thought of him - This is because the guy is just full of mystery! One of the leading attractive traits in a guy is mystery. He's leaving you wondering whether he likes you, what does his actions mean, he compliments you but hasn't initiated a conversation. It's the perfect situation to build interest and attraction.

I think you should send him a message, but not just a 'hello'. Ask him a question, or comment on something he's recently said or done. This will open the conversation. Worst case scenario he's not interested (which I doubt) but because you sent him a message with value he won't assume you're just approaching him.

Also he has added me in snapchat through Mary's mention.. we exchange some snaps.. I don't know what is he doing or i am?

Are your snaps just pictures or do you say anything in them? Maybe send him a message in the chat feature like 'At this rate we're going to have to exchange a few words' something along the lines of flirty banter will be good. He might be unsure of whether you're interested or just being friendly which could be why he's holding off putting himself forward. Also, perhaps he's considering that you're his sister's friend, is it territory he can't go onto?

Also mary used to tease me before 2 years now that i remember, i hadn't given much thought about him.. but now after i saw him, i am crushing..
I don't wanna initiate a conversation thinking if i will make it awkward...
