Is calling a girl “cool” a platonic or flirty compliment?

My friend brought me as a plus one to a party where I barely knew anyone and I ended up losing her for a bit. I bumped into a guy I’m friends with but not particularly close to. I told him I was glad to see a familiar face and his response to this was to go around introducing me to everyone. When he would introduce me, he’d tell people that I was “the coolest” or “the best”. I found this to be a pretty generic, platonic complement but when I found my friend again and jokingly told her about it, she said that she thinks he likes me. That’s a bit of a big jump in my opinion but I do find him cute and wouldn’t mind if she was right. Do you think he was just being friendly or is there more to it?

It definitely could be seen as flirty if he keeps doing it a lot when introducing you. He seems to be trying to show you what he thinks of you without actually saying it directly to you. There likely would be other signs though. Did he do anything else to make you think he was trying to flirt like hanging around you a lot?

Better question is do you like this guy? If so, why not suggest doing something together? Just suggest something casual. Tell him you had a good time at the party and ask if he'd like to grab a coffee or some lunch. That will tell you a lot of where his head is at.

If he agrees and you do meet up, look for those signs of flirting when you are one on one and he isn't introducing you around. I am going to have to agree with your friend that I think he probably likes you and that was his way of flirting.

The only person who truly knows if he was be flirty or friendly is the guy.
For me personally when my guy friends call me "cool" I just take it as a friendly compliment

It is a alright, I can manage that... or that's not too "woman" crazy. It is a Plus. Take it as a Plus and leave it there BEFORE you over analysis it into a Negative... And he never exposes himself to you again. :-)

Guys wouldn't normally elaborate when introducing a girl unless they liked her, its possible he does like you.

I say friendly. If you didn't know many people there and he did it is a way for him to say you're solid. Like he vouches for you.
