Is being called "cute" from girls an insult for a guy?

My fem friends and gfs of my male friends call me cute.
For example: when I'm eating, someone will whisper in the ear of another girl and say "look how he's eating the food, he's looking so cute" and then they will laugh.

Is it a direct insult to the masculinity?

If your masculinity is so fragile that it can be threatened with a single word like "cute", that's a red flag... if you're adorable, own that shit. Girls love guys who can make them laugh, and are comfortable with who they are NO MATTER who they are.

If they're laughing at you maliciously, you could be passive aggressive and ask them why they're being rude, but if you're wrong and they aren't being malicious at all, then they will have just seen your fragile masculinity and unfortunately that's not a very attractive thing to see.
