I love being told I'm CUTE!!! To me its like telling a dog "YOURRRR A GOOD PUPPY!!!" Guys can be very primal and basic. Being told we are cute is like gold to us! its simple sweet and says so much in so very few words! Good Luck i'm Cheering for You!!!

I love it when a girl says I'm cute. It makes me feel good about myself. If a guy is offended by the word cute then obviously he has a self esteem issue with his own masculinity.

Depends on the context, but it's rarely a bad thing. I'll take cute over weird, or ugly, or boring, or any other negative comment, any day.

All guys (whether openly or secretly) want to be called hot, sexy, handsome, etc. Cute, nice, sweet - they can sometimes be seen as the silver medal. Definitely not always, but plenty of times:

'You're so hot' = I'm interested in you
'You're so cute' = I have an annoying friend you'd probably be able to put up with

The thing is that, although I want to be called that as part of a flirty compliment, the problem is that the impression I get from girls is that they mean it more platonically. And for girls it's obvious they're not sexually attracted to "cute" and feminine things the way guys are, so if you're a girl so like *men* and manliness in a partner then shouldn't I assume "cute" is you seeing me as "just a friend"?

It's actually an interesting experience, because being called cute makes you seem more like a cuddly guy or whatever. At least that's the vibe I get, like, you look good and your nice too.

I would love to take it at face value and say its a compliment, but I know it can also mean that the person doesn't respect me as a man. I wouldn't say I'm "cute," so when I hear it I think there's a double meaning.

Some girls use “cute” as their standard term for all decent looking guys in which case it’s a plus.

Some girls distinguish between “cute” vs hot or some other word and then cute is bad.
