Why is it taboo to admit you are desperate and would or have settled for someone or a situation with someone because of it?

I am being honest. I am desperate and i am leaning towards being ready to settle for a bullcrap situation with a crappy selfish man because of it.

It's not taboo. I think it's pretty pathetic, though, but if you're happy with settling for a stupid man, that's your business.

Personally, I don't see a need to settle.

I'm newly single, saved myself from marrying a helpless and useless cishet white manchild (it was LDR at first and he kept himself successfully under wraps until he thought he had landed me).

If I never again find love (highly unlikely, I haven't even started dating women or enbies yet), I'll still be happy.

True, real, and lasting happiness comes from within. Not from a relationship with another person. That's not happiness. It's codependence.
