Guys, how do you feel hearing about periods and why?

Obviously I don't share that many details with guys, but some of them freak out at the slightest things. Like seeing a box of tampons in the bathroom, or hearing someone mention it's the 'time of the month'. While non of them are disgusted by unused toilet paper or someone mentioning they need the bathroom.

I don't mind hearing about it.

It's part of life, it's natural. I don't see what the big deal is. Guys that are grossed out need to stop acting like dumb kids. This girl at work always tells me when she's on her period, which I think is funny. Sometimes to let me know why she's acting kind of crazy, sometimes just out of the blue for no reason. I think she tries to gross me out but I just laugh. I told her if she wasn't married, I'd give her a nice massage for her cramps haha

I do not enjoy it. It becomes a hate everything and everyone time. It’s not the process…it’s how crazy you guys get emotionally. I know not everyone is that way but most are.

I don’t understand what you are asking. My experience is oh.. she’s on her period.. that’s why so cranky and emotional. Women also tend to be one extreme to another in conversation

I'm just saying that for most women you won't know if they are or not, because they don't tell you (coworkers, family, friends, for example). They might act completely normal, you don't know. If you only know a few women who tell you about that, and they get very emotional, you might get a warped view.

There are definitely women who get emotional, but in my experience they're not the majority.

When you turn into Makarov from MW3 trying to destroy the world, then it starts to feel less natural and someone wouldn't want to be around it. If we were approached at a milder way, I'm sure there would be no issue at all to take care and tend to one's needs.

In the meantime, I'm waiting for my SO, who is age 55, to finally go through menopause.

When talking about periods, what I want to hear is "It's TWO-as-in-2 spaces after the period at the end of a sentence. Anything else, except in printed newspapers, is bullshit!"

@goaded Single-space after punctuation is also bad from a reliability perspective. The extra space provides an indication that the sentence should end even in the absence of punctuation (like when toner begins to run out).

And my wife is a nurse.

I think in general bathroom business stays in the bathroom. If they say it’s the time of the month or have a box of tampons around, I mean no worries there. Just don’t describe anything.
