Is it bad if he calls me dude?

I’m interested in this guy and sometimes he calls me dude… For example, we’d walk away after having a class today and he’d say, ‘Cya dude’ this has happened at least two times now. If you genuinely liked someone would you call them dude? Does this end the chances between us/ am I friendzoned?

So for a lot of people dude is not gender specific. But I never address women directly by dude. I mean I might say something like "Dude, WTF" or "Dude, Hell no!" more like and expletive even when I am addressing women.

But I do not call women or address them with the use of Dude. I have used dudette. No it doesn't ruin any chances I would not make a big deal out of it, at some point I would ask him if knows that dude is used for guys, and that your a fully functional and healthy women.

My partner calls me bro sometimes lmao it doesn't mean he doesn't like you, it just means that its a force of habit. Honestly unless he's taken or infatuated with a single person, he likely see's you as someone he might want to date.
