"I'm better" mindset is what's going to destroy you young brother. It may be difficult for you to understand this at 18... I once watched a documentary about gorillas and their social bonds, in the documentary it showed that the Alpha male wasn't necessarily the biggest or the strongest, but the one with the best "soft skills".

Whilst the beta gorillas would fight and TALK HARD TALK in the background, physically trying to get others to follow them. The Alpha was at peace, when he stood, everyone immediate packed up their activities and got ready to follow.

The Alpha gorilla was Alpha because he was able to accept everyone in the group for their individual personalities and would fight to protect them all. It came as a great shock to me In highschool and there after, that people called me a "Chad" and "Mr popular". If I was sitting in a room, Guys bigger than me would, when entering the room, damn near kiss the ring before continuing their activities.

I realised that my position came from not trying to prove I'm the best, or better than others, but by having genuine open conversations and connections with everyone. Everyone knew that approaching me was a safe haven and I'd do what I could to get the best out of you. Equally I wouldn't take shit if you overstepped.. and no one wanted to overstep because no one would be on their side.
