Trending & News Let’s start with the obvious, this is a poorly worded question. You can’t prove effort, let alone degree of effort, and “involved” is terribly subjective. Statistically, only the smallest minority of men completely abandon their children, and it’s not that much more than the number of women who do the same. Most absentee fathers still pay child support. I say that’s an involvement, particularly in the many cases in which mothers manipulate the system to make sure he pays but doesn’t get any custody or little to no visitation. One case that’s often overlooked in these misrepresentations of facts is incarceration. When a man is jailed, particularly for underpayment of child support, he’s filed under the complete abandonment category, despite it not being his choice to do so. Some mothers refuse to stay out of the way so fathers can be involved. If a man has to choose between engaging in a toxic relationship with his child’s mother in the kid’s presence or not seeing the kid at all, some men will choose the latter thinking he’s sparing the child. Some men just aren’t prepared to be a father, and others are just afraid to fail so they quit or half-ass their parts. Some men never even know they have kids. Despite never having the choice, they’re presumed to have willingly abandoned their children. Some men die, and those fatherless children have repeatedly been included in data to make it appear that more men abandon their families than actually do. Some men take jobs that require extensive time away from the home, making them absent fathers despite their doing so precisely for the benefit of their families. There are many reasons fathers might not be around as much as their kids might like, and data surrounding the issue has been frequently and widely misrepresented for generations.
They don’t want the responsibility. And too many women let them get away with it. Ladies need to start holding him accountable instead of always acting like they can do it all by themselves. Take the kid over to his place and you have yourself a nice week off from time to time.
So you're asking them to violate the Restraining Order they placed on the father their keeping from their kid?
Doesn't the guy at least deserve to have a DNA test to make sure he's the Biological Father?
If the DNA test results are positive, what Legal steps can he take to be involved in his child's life? Also what can the Courts do if the Baby momma refuses to Comply?
Sometimes it’s because they’re no longer interested in the mother of the child…like if he’s dating someone new and is wrapped up in his new life with that person.
