Guys when you go pee, which do you do?

I'm asking this mostly cuz I always hear about the "put the seat down" argument but in my house I've never had to have that with my boys or husband cuz they pee with the seat in the normal position so it's never a issue.

I'm wondering how many guys actually put the seat up? Like if you can aim isn't that unnecessary?

Every guy who voted C is either a beta male or has irritable bowel syndrome and is doing that so they don't accidentally sh*t their pants while peeing standing up. So that's 30 guys who potentially pee like women.

Option B; I put the seat up cause my streams are powerful (and clean too; no drips) and I don't want to clean up any splashback. Guys who don't put the seat up are probably nasty and getting piss drops all over it. I also NEVER leave the top of the seat up, cause staring inside a toilet bowl is nasty and I've always hated that image (from many public restrooms, since most dudes in Philly don't flush, apparently.)

When I used to have roommates, I had my own bathroom and the other two used the back bathroom. But they sometimes had guests over. And I always knew it, cause their nasty f*ckin' friends would always leave my toilet seat up (which is also why the bathroom smelled bad, too.) They not only broke my rules, but were also too stupid to not leave any evidence behind.

In short, I'm a hygienic person (most of the time) and like having a clean bathroom. I just need to wipe down the outside and bottom of the bowl more often.

I never pee with the seat down (a). Sure, I can hit the hole, but there's always a little spray, a drip or two at the beginning or the end. Why bother having to cleanup.

If I'm home with time, I sit (c). Grab a magazine or my phone and relax for a few.

At work or in public, I always stand (b). Stalls are never clean enough for my baby-butt.

And finally, I LOVE peeing outside (d). It's rarely private enough. I do at night, in the woods, you know... Any excuse I can get away with...

That’s happened to me before, more than once, where in the middle of the night (because I was being courteous and didn’t want to turn the light on and wake him up, I just tried to pee by the dull luminance of a distant bedroom night light… Then I fell into the toilet b/c dipshit almighty did not put the seat back after he peed! What annoys me so much is that if I didn't care about him, and just threw the light on, I’d have woken him up, but at least I would not have fallen into the toilet bowl! Seriously, we should never have to “hover” in our own fukin’ homes! That’s just not right!

I can piss through a Cheerio, if I really had to, but aim isn't the issue. When a liquid falls from that height, it's going to splatter, regardless of whether you aim for the porcelain, or the water. It's not a lot, but it's unavoidable.

I consider it a courtesy to avoid piss sprinkles on the seat, so it's necessary to raise it. I also close the toilet after every use, simply because it's more sanitary, and because who wants to look at an open toilet every time they walk into a bathroom?

Consequently, the whole "seat up or down" thing has never been an issue for me. It's always closed after every use, so nobody is going to fall in. If they piss on the seat, then they're just fucking stupid.

What's the "normal position"?
My aunt has one of those potty chairs that fits over the toilet so, as it doesn't fit with the seat up, it HAS to stay down. Anyway, just because you CAN aim doesn't mean it's GONNA go where you point it! I've had a number of cases where I point it the exact same way as usual and it comes out sideways onto the seat or the wall beside the toilet or even on my feet and the floor and, sometimes, it even splits into 2 or 3 streams and only one actually hits water or, on rare occasions, it comers out like a spray so, no matter WHERE you point it, it's gonna miss!
Why don't girls hold their lips open when they pee so they don't get piss all over them and have to clean it up?

combination of all 4, first thing in the morning (following morning glory or after sex) directional aim is hit and miss (literally), at night without the lights on its just 100x easier to sit down, most of the time the hole is way big enough to not hit the seat but yeah, none of the above beat going for a pee outdoors, but I will add, only total weirdos get their ass out to pee like that!!

lol I would prefer the nature option - which I do from time to time if out golfing or somewhere like that but... at home, I put the seat up. I've got good aim but even a late drop or two means I'd have to wipe the seat so just easier to put it up... but I also close the lid as a habit for not giving our dog any drinking ideas :)

Who needs the seat? I just whip my thing out and piss in the cup. It’s easy to drink out of the cup than out of the loo. Urine is not only safe to drink most of the time, but nutritious as well. When I ain’t thirsty or feel my piss is too salty, I just sit, doesn’t matter the seat be up or down. Tiny droplets of piss could come out when pissing standing.

Such a simple Q with such a complicated A. Usually, I put the seat up and leave it up, cuz occasionally spray does get everywhere, and aim can be off, so I wipe the toilet down!

If ladies are sharing the toilet, I'll wipe the toilet down, and put the seat down when I'm done.

I'm going to out myself as the weird one here, but also add an opinion. I pee sitting down (only in private homes since public restrooms are gross af) so the seat is always down.

That being said... why would the onus be on men putting the seat down and not the women putting g the seat up?

Or really... just put it up or down as needed and leave it at that? I don't understand why this is a thing with people.

In my part of Europe sitting down is the norm.
*If* I'm standing however I'll lift the seat to be on the safe side, and I'll *try* to remember to lower it again.
But that's most definitely the exception rather than the rule when in civilization.
Out in nature standing is of course way more convenient...

I put it up to pee because no matter how good your aim is it still gets spray from the pee and you always have some on the seat but I always put it down and the cover so I don’t have to worry about dropping something into the bowl while using the sink since it’s so close to the toilet

If it’s my bathroom, i sit down. If it’s yours, i piss on everything and laugh aloud like a maniac. There’s always going to be splash and dribble. So putting up the seat is necessary unless you’re prepared to clean the seat every time. The toilet seat argument is nonsense. If i can put it up to go, you can put it down to go. If the toilet seat is your main concern, you have an awesome relationship and you shouldn’t jeopardize that with some petty argument.

I like playing fire hoses when I pee and with the seat down it limits sweeping the stream around the bowl.

Also on the shake, the dribble can go anywhere and you'll get hell if you have dribbled on the seat.

When a guy stands and pees, the start of his stream will fall on the seat for a moment till the stream is "up to speed". Also, there are changes in the strength of the stream at times. That becomes more noticeable as guys age. In any case, any guy peeing without lifting the seat is likely to get some on the seat. That is why they are made so the can be lifted to keep them dry.

Even if you aim, there is a steep drop in water pressure at the end of your "stream." Physics will tell you that, due to the laws of gravity, this will cause the last few drops of urine to fall downward instead of outward.
