Did he lie to impress me?

There is a guy who I think is interested in me. Recently he was telling me about a show his band played and said they made over a thousand dollars at the concert. Later, I ran into another member of his band and I mentioned that I heard how great the band did at the concert, and the fact that I was told they earned over a thousand dollars (I was positioning to congratulate the other band member). The other band member gave a confused look and let out a chuckle. Then he said “wait what? I don’t know who said that, it was like 200.”

Do you think the other guy lied about how successful it was to impress me/because he’s interested? He often teases me and always points out the things he likes in common with me, but I always give it the benefit of the doubt that it’s just friendly

So you are saying you don't care if he lied if he likes you? Why even mention that? If he lied he is a LIAR. Please don't be so desperate.

  It is a question of the motive for lying. Everyone lies at some point in their life and it doesn’t make them a compulsive liar necessarily. To pretend you have never once lied is humorous. There is a difference between a harmless lie and something serious

  Well, we aren't talking about me, we are talking about some moron trying to impress you. You can rationalize it all you want, but to ignore character is foolish. Then again, maybe you are that desperate.
