Was he lying to spare my feelings?

I matched this man I went to high school with. he told me he wanted to get to know me better. A few days after our date he tells me his brother is in the hospital. He cannot date anyone right now because he is concerned. He said his brother might have cancer. I tell him I understand and he says he will know more on Thursday. I message him on Thursday to say I wish his family luck. He blocks me. The next day I see him on dating sites. Do you think he made it all up so he didn’t want to see me again? Why would someone do that?

A guy used to talk to me all the time online and then I told him some bad things about my parents controlling me and he told me he could no longer use the internet because he injured his arm or hand or fingers in some accident. I never saw him on this site again. I am not sure I believe him when he said he can't talk due to an injury. I think maybe he decided he did not want to date me anymore so quite his user id o the site. I was not his girlfriend, but I was open to conversation cause I give most normal people a chance to say hi to me.

Wow, that was so uncalled for. He could’ve just been honest because it does sound like a lie. But it’s whatever, he did you a favor because if he can lie about small things, imagine the bigger ones? No thanks!

We didn’t really know each other then. He played up the whole high school thing. Then after we went out he says he didn’t want to date anyone new. When he told me about his brother being sick, my ptsd came back. I had a brain tumour years ago. He was the first person I went out with. I thought I was a curse when he told me about his brother. So I tried to be nice. He told me I was harassing him and if I contact him again he will call the cops.

Yes I am. I am seeking help for my ptsd. I have little trust in the medical system. I honestly was trying to help.
I never threatened him or showed up at his house. I thought it was a mistake that he blocked me. I have never fooled around with a guy on a first date, but he made it seem like we were compatible. He blocked me not even a week after our date. All I did was wish him well.
