So me and my guy friend have known each other for over a year now and he showed interest in me and I reciprocated the feelings back. But lately I noticed he’s been acting weird and I didn’t know why until his cousin asked about us and I explained everything that went on. He told me that my guy friend was hurt by something I said and I didn’t mean to make him upset. When things got better between us later, I was planning on asking him out. So when I finally did, he turned me down and said he has feelings for someone else and he doesn’t like me in that type of way.
I was very confused cause he flirted with me and always sat with me, he even mentioned we could be together one day, and everyone could see he liked me and they told me he did. But it was all a lie, and his friends teased us. He still want us to remain as friends but I don't know if I can do that if all this time he likes someone else and then pretended to like me.
But part of me thinks he’s lying again or he likes both me and the other girl but likes her more. I’m not sure if she even likes him back but it’s not my business. But when I walked passed him recently, his cousin asked him “Are you smiling because you saw (My name) walk by?” And he said “What?” so shockingly like he’s embarrassed his cousin caught him smiling at me. Now I’m left confused but I don’t want nothing to do with him anymore.
