To my husband I am indeed a radio?

Been married for 4 years, 3 kids, all an all very happy. There is this little issue i am having with my husband and I want to know if its a guy thing..

When you go out for our night drives or go out for coffee ever since we got married he always expects me to talk. When I don't he asks "why are you silent? open up a conversation" "I like to hear you talk" at the beginning it was sweet and I would get shy and all but now its EXHAUSTING. If you go out to a night ride and I have nothing to say its an awkward drive. And sometimes I try to talk until I get a headache. Yes he is a quite guy even with his family and friends he is like that.

Help how can I get him excited and talk more and get excited with me?

I am a very hyper woman when I talk about something I love I might get on the table and shout it out

One thing you can try is talking about something that you know interests him. Like sometimes us guys don't have much to say just because we don't know *what* to say, and sometimes our partner will be talking on a subject we can't really make a comment on (granted this is for some guys, not all, especially the ones that aren't conversational to begin with). Think of some fun topics or something. But otherwise don't think too much. Just consider the moment, you're spending quality time on a car ride with your loving husband and it's just him in your presence. Relax a little

And as for him wanting for you to talk, maybe he just likes being able to have that sort of bonding time with you since you're both busy adults with a lot on your plates I assume. Just don't think too much 🙂 yes he might not talk a lot himself but that's probably just how he is

He's restrained. More people should be like this. Your thoughts should be just that, YOUR thoughts. Men who are confident in their mentality and sense of self don't need to talk as much as women do and when they do they consider and measure their words to be concise and impactful. We're not outwardly expressive in that arena. Women by and large are and when it's missing it comes across as something being off. Not saying one is better than the other. We're just different, appreciate it because that same calm silence speaks volumes during a crisis or confrontation.

Silence from a woman can be seen as an issue by a man that something is wrong. When a man is used to constant chatting of his wife and she suddenly says nothing then there has to be something off. Maybe he did something wrong? Compare it to an engine, it always sounds the same day in day out but suddenly it sounds strange has a weird rattling sound. Wouldn't you too get suspicious of that? Sorry for the comparison.

It is said that the mark of a true friendship is the ability to just sit quietly with each other,, Anyway, maybe try and coax him to be more forthcoming. You don't have to be crazy about it, just try to have conversations about stuff he is interested in.
