Is it tacky to buy my boyfriend lingerie for his birthday?

My boyfriend and I have been dating now for *three birthdays* (this will be the third) and he’s asked before if I would wear lingerie for him. Well, I live in a house with roommates so it’s difficult to have true sexy time (ofc we sleep with eachother but it’s usually a more quiet ordeal lol)

we’re going away for a long weekend and staying in a hotel, so i bought a black lace outfit. BUT do I put it in with his birthday gifts to unwrap, or do I just wear it and surprise him?
I wouldn’t be wearing it all day because it would get sweaty (we’ll be outside, in NOVA, in mid-August) but I don't know when we got home I could do a sneaky change in the bathroom?

I don't know what would you personally prefer?

Buy lingerie for yourself, but wear it for him if you so desire.
You could always put it on (under your regular clothes) and then wear a big bow and gift tag on yourself that is addressed to him. (Personally, I'd really like that.)
Buying it for him may very well result in his purchasing power tools or a beard trimmer for you.

I would just put it on when you get back to the hotel. He doesn't need to unwrap it, but he'll appreciate it. No need to make it more complicated than it needs to be - just go to the bathroom and change when the time comes.
